About this Project

The Carroll Creek promenade in the center of the city of Frederick, Maryland has quickly become a major attraction for both residents and visitors to the city.

Major elements of this project included:

  • Three distinctive pedestrian bridges:
    • A cabled suspension bridge with a 30-foot-tall central mast
    • An arched bridge clad in natural stone
    • A traditional footbridge with ornate iron sculpture
  • A public amphitheater
  • Raised planters with elaborate brick detailing
  • Numerous water features including several waterfalls
  • An attractive blend of patterned brick walkways stretching approximately two miles along the promenade
